Drug & Knife Awareness Workshop
Raising awareness of the dangers of taking drugs and carrying knives to influence decisions & save lives.
We all know that young people want to make their own decisions, and can't be brow beaten into making them. This is why we need to give them relevant & useful information in a memorable and engaging way to help them make the right decisions when faced with drug use or carrying knives.
To do this we use our patient simulator, Stan. He is a living & breathing medical manikin who shows all the signs of life. You can see his chest move as he breathes, hear his heart beat and feel his pulses. He sweats, blinks, talks and he can even have a seizure. All of his vital signs can be seen on a big screen to highlight any internal changes that may occur.
During the workshop, Stan will be given a range of drugs and stabbed (both electronically). Their effects will clearly be demonstrated as Stan is pushed towards his death. Only your students can save him by making the right decisions in the workshop!
Aims
We want young people to be more aware of the dangers of taking drugs or carrying knives and for them to understand the risk they take with their own and other's lives with their use.
We want to help young people have the courage and the knowledge to make the right decision if they are ever faced with a situation involving drugs or knives.

Curriculum Info
All our workshops are mapped to the national curriculum and exam boards including Edexcel, AQA and OCR. When you book just let us know which subject and exam board you are using and we will make sure we cover all the right learning outcomes.
