Cross curricular activities with biology, physics and maths!
How fast can I throw a ball? How quickly can I sprint over 10m? How fast do electrical signals travel along my nerves? These are a few of the questions your students will be able to answer at the end of the Sports Hall Science workshop by using our specialist equipment. Students will initially collect data that can be used to calculate speed, using the speed = distance/time formula. Following this they will then see if they are able to improve their reaction times with practice as well as other weird and amazing tricks we can play on our bodies!

Hi-Definition Fitness
Do you think your students could react as quickly as Usain Bolt at the start of the 100m, or even match him over the first 10m? What about Freddy Flintoff and how fast he can bowl, could your student match him? Your students will find out with our reaction timers and speed lasers in the Fitness Challenge.
The Fitness competition lets teams of students take part in over 10 individual and team activities which require speed, strength and stamina. After teams have tried all of the events, tactics and team work will be vital in selecting which team member goes up against the other teams. Events include the BATAK wall, strength tests, individual and team indoor rowing challenges and more!
At the end of the academic year, we invite the top 10 schools who have taken part in the Fitness Challenge to battle it out in a Champion of Champions competition. All teams selected for the final will receive a competition t-shirt and special prizes for the winning teams.
Curriculum Info
All our workshops are mapped to the national curriculum and exam boards including Edexcel, AQA and OCR. When you book just let us know which subject and exam board you are using and we will make sure we cover all the right learning outcomes.
