Feedback from
Students & Teachers

We have visited schools all over the UK and inspired thousands of pupils. Here is a selection of comments from teachers and pupils!

The staff were patient, good-humoured and relaxed which led to a lovely working atmosphere! Comments from pupils: "I liked the classroom medics because it was all practical." "I enjoyed it because it was different." "I liked using the BATAK reflex machine and trying to beat my other score. I also liked the machine that squished my arm to get my heart rate". "I liked the lesson because it was active science instead of in a classroom. I also liked competing with my friends on the reaction test. It was also fun using the equipment as I'd never used them before." Only complaint from the kids was that they wanted a longer session! Be warned though, staff participation in activities may lead to worrying levels of competitiveness in your Science department!
Haybridge High School and Sixth Form
The whole school benefitted from a very interactive, informative assembly that appealed to all primary school age groups. The Year 5 workshops were fantastically presented and the equipment they used was really exciting. Educational, fun, informative and very engagingly presented!

On 16th Feb 11 our year 9 students were transformed into medical and sports scientists by the 'Classroom Medics'. Students worked in groups of eight to assess their own physical well being, experience the effects of serious illnesses and learn what careers in medical science may involve. Each of the 17 experiments gave students a different insight and were great fun too; ranging from diagnosing the symptoms of 'STAN' the lifelike patient simulator and using an ECG machine to experiencing visual diseases and testing speed and coordination on dance mats. It was a very interesting and enjoyable day for all concerned. Tom and the Classroom Medics Team were organised, knowledgable and absolutely wonderful with the students.

We ran two workshops for year 9 students which were a huge success. Students were interested and motivated (so much so that they lingered long after the bell for break!). The only complaints that we had were from students who had not been selected to participate. The workshops were hands on, informative and friendly. Highly recommended.

I have been teaching for many years and Classroom Medics is the best 'resource'I have ever used.Tom Warrender has an excellent subject knowledge and the students related to him really well. His delivery of information was factual but at the same time entertaining and attention grabbing for the students. I have rebooked Tom for another session and shall certainly use him as often as possible!! Excellent selection of resources that the students enjoyed using and also developed their skills. I would highly recommend Tom for your school.

Tom was invited to present to a group of disengaged Year 11 students....not the easiest or most rewarding of audiences. He very quickly established a rapport using humour, straight-forward language and by giving examples pertinent to their age, experience, interests and background. At the end of the session our unusually animated students stood up and gave him a spontaneous round of applause. Praise indeed!

Tom was extremely efficient, organised and enthusiastic when running the course and this rubbed off onto the students. I was extremely happy with the services I received and will be willing to run this course again in the near future. Worth every penny!!

Tom and his team provided excellent workshops for our students which resulted in a fantastic showcase at the end. Students thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities and were amazed at the imformation that they found out. Tom's workshops were brilliant because they were very hands on and students found it much easier to process the information when they actually got to try out the activities!! I would definately reccommend that every school should take part in classroom medics, we would have them back tomorrow!

Tom Warrender was one of the most popular presenters at the Ashlawn School and Rugby High School Science Fair held July 2010. He entertained students of all ages, and their parents, with a huge variety of hands on sports science activities. We look forward to inviting him back for further events and to class workshops.
