Your school has been hit by an earthquake! Buildings are rubble, people are homeless and hundreds are injured.

How would your pupils cope?

The Disaster Day is an exciting day of activities for a whole year group that develops team work and communication skills as well as deliver aspects of PSHE, citizenship, science, first aid, music, geography & English.

Missing Persons

It’s 30 years after the disaster and people are still missing. Pupils have to identify pictures of teachers that have been aged with age progression photography just like a forensic scientist would use. Pupils can also have their picture aged!

Classroom Casualty

Just like on an emergency unit, pupils will be able to monitor the health or their patients by record an ECG from their heart, use a real needle to take blood from Andy the injection arm, use a real hoist to move people and much more!

Disaster First Aid

A group of selected pupils will be ‘made-up’ with make up to recreate a disaster ward. Pupils will have manage the wounded and learn first aid skills.

Problem Solving – Team building

Several dangerous scenarios have developed after the disaster. Water supplies have been contaminated, there is leak at the nuclear power plant and transport links have been disrupted. Your pupils have to solve these problems with team work, imagination good communication skills.

Plan a New TowN

Pupils will be given a budget, list of services, a map of the disaster area and the task of planning the new town. They have lay out the new town & services, control the budget and present their plans to the class to see who has the best ideas.

Build a Shelter

With a pile of random materials, can your pupils build a secure shelter to withstand the elements and keep a family safe, warm and dry?

Charity Single

To help raise funds, your pupils have to right the lyrics to a charity single. We provide the music, your pupils provide the lyrics to a number 1 smash hit single!
